About Kathleen Hill Web Design

Though my business is far from being "about me," it has crossed my mind that a few tidbits might be helpful in creating a good impression. Read on.

I Love What I Do.

I am passionate about the Internet, Web design, and Web standards. I also love learning new technologies. With twenty-plus years of experience in the advertising/graphic design field, and almost eleven years working in Web design, I have both the experience and the qualifications to create an outstanding Web presence for your business or project.

As a small studio (one-person, actually), I also offer a much more personal experience when it comes to designing, developing, and building your website. Special care will be taken to ensure that every aspect of your site is maximized to its potential. Because small details are just as important as the bigger ones, your site will be fine-tuned right down to the grammar and spelling.

Philosophy

I believe simplicity reigns supreme. The Internet should be accessible to everyone, whether they surf on a Mac or a Windows machine, with Internet Explorer or Firefox, or with keyboard and mouse or a screenreader. I am devoted to the principles and practice of accessible web design.

Skills

I am proficient in hand-coding Strict X/HTML, HTML, and CSS. I also work with Javascript, Javascript libraries (mainly JQuery), PHP, and MySQL. Additional skills with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Fireworks, Freehand, and Illustrator round out the set. My initial experience with design coupled with my more recent emergence as a compter geek (since circa 1995) give me the ability to build your site from both a visual and a technical perspective.

In addition, I also have excellent copywriting and proofreading skills. Should you need those services, they are at your disposal.
